With Apiums P-Series we want to be part of an environmentally friendly and sustainable world
Apium Additive Technologies is one of the Baden-Württemberg’s environmental technology innovators
The Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy Industry has been awarding the environmental technology price since 2009 in a two-year cycle for outstanding and innovative products in environmental technology. Products that make a significant contribution to resource efficiency and environmental protection and are just about to be launched or have been on the market for more than two years are awarded. Companies with head office or branch office in Baden-Württemberg are eligible to participate. On 13 July 2017, Minister of the Environment, Franz Untersteller, awarded the winners of 2017 in the Schwabenlandhalle in Fellbach.
“Companies at our high-tech area Baden-Württemberg are faced with the challenge of dealing with scarce resources while developing and producing environmentally competitive products. With the Umwelttechnikpreis Baden-Württemberg, we recognize innovative solutions that show that economic action and sustainability are not a contradiction.” explained Environment Minister Franz Untersteller, who, together with the expert jury, determined the award winners and the nominated companies.
This special award was given to our 3D printer “Apium P155”. With the advancements Apium has achieved over the last 3 years in FFF 3D printing, this technology became suitable for processing PEEK and opened new industrial applications field for producing functional prototypes and end-use parts. As compared to other PEEK processing technologies, e.g. Milling machines, the Apium P155 does not only significantly reduce production based material waste and saves valuable costs, but also the company aims to help its customers to achieve their sustainability goals with their solutions.
“The nomination is a special award for our work and commitment. It is a further incentive for us to carry on precisely in the development of products that are not only innovative, but also contribute to the protection of the environment,” said Tony Tran-Mai, CEO of Apium Additive Technologies GmbH.
